Events, holidays, rituals

09 July 2005
Football stars and showmen mingled with
the staff of KCM 2000 GROUP

Even though Bulgaria was flooded by heavy rains in the last few weeks the sun shone over everybody who had come to have fun at the family holiday of the companies from KCM 2000 GROUP in Koprivkite. By tradition former and present workers and employees along with their children and grandchildren met there. And accordance with tradition most of the entertainment was directed to the kids. The meadows near the rest house served as natural stages for the improvised performances of young and old. Professional make-up persons helped the kids turn into their favorite fairy heroes while the showman Niki Aprilov and the clowns Itso and Zhitso were taking care for the cheerful spirits of everyone.

A new initiative was started this year. All pensioners who had worked in the company for more than 20 years received a keepsake from the Executive Director of KCM S.A. The Plovdiv company Fortuna made especially for the case silver articles with platinum coating - nice brooches for women and tie clips for men.

And yet the plank of this year's holiday was the friendly football match between the legendary footballers of Botev, Plovdiv and the mixed team of KCM S.A. It turned into a real attraction and triggered the fans' emotions. The Young Lions were in every way equal to their distinguished rivals. And the legends, although they had gained some weight and their "manes" had become grey, showed enviable flexibility, speed and zeal to play. The huge audience applauded loudly its favourites from the near past - Vidin Apostolov, Marin Bakalov, Georgi Slavkov, Zapryan Rakov, Vladimir Chernev, Dimitar Zdravchev, Ivan Kochev and Slavcho Horozov.

The emotions went higher under Vladi Aprilov's witty comments and "short passes" of the fans of the two teams. Suddenly the match was settled by the strike of the big fan of the Botev's veterans, Vesselin Marinov. With equal result after the regular time, the honour to perform the penalty kicks fell on Vesselin Marinov and Eng. Nikolay Konarev, Executive Director of KCM S.A. It turned out that the Bulgarian pop star could not only sing well but also to score goals.
The return match would take place at the same time and place next year!
