The Deputy Minister of Environment and Waters inaugurated
the Central Waste Water Treatment Plant at KCM S.A.

On 11 November 2005 the Deputy Minister of Environment and Waters
Chavdar Georgiev inaugurated the Central Waste Water Treatment Plant
at KCM S.A. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives
of the state administration, politicians, of financial institutions
from the country and abroad, nongovernmental organizations, representatives
of related companies.
The construction of the Central Waste Water Treatment Plant is the
final stage of the Industrial Pollution Improvement Project of KCM
S.A.
Modern technologies and equipment, compact arrangement of the machines
and optimal solutions on energy consumption were applied for the
realization of the Project. As a result of that the new organization
of the water utilization at KCM reduced the actual water consumption
from 700 m3/h to 250 m3/h.
The plant capacity is 300 m3/h of industrial effluents and 50 m3/h
of rain and industrial water. The composition of the treated water
meets the emission limits for the content of harmful and hazardous
substances allowed in effluents discharged in water basins.
The Central Waste Water Treatment Plant was built up under the design
of NIPRORUDA, Sofia. The software applications were developed by
SICONT in cooperation with KCM TECHNOLOGY Ltd., Plovdiv. The construction
works were carried out by SIENIT Holding, Plovdiv.
The Project was financed by a loan amounting to BGN 4 000 000 granted
the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, Thessaloniki.
