ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

KCM S.A., Plovdiv is a producer of non-ferrous metals and their alloys. The production is well-accepted at the local and the international markets where the company maintains stable positions. KCM S.A. wishes to reduce to a minimum the potential adverse effects on the environment where and when it is practically appropriate and by applying mechanisms guaranteeing company's sustainable development.

The management of KCM S.A. commits itself to the achievement of better results in the field of environmental protection through:

• A constant improvement of the ecological status of the company through development and introduction of investment programs aiming at continuous reduction and prevention of the pollution;
• An introduction of the Best Available Techniques causing minimum adverse effects on the environment;
• An achievement of conformity with the legislative and other requirements, and especially with those concerning environmental protection and related to the company's activities;
• Conduction of monitoring and management of the production and trade activities aiming at optimization of the utilized resources, including power and water consumption;
• Management and minimization of waste and replacement of the harmful substances included in the production process with such causing less adverse effects on the environment;
• Monitoring and reduction of the emissions of harmful substances to all environmental compartments - air, water, soil;
• Maintenance of perfect readiness of the technical means and teams for prevention and adequate response at emergency situations and breakdowns;
• Training, discussions and exchange of information with the employees of the company, aiming to increase the understanding of the effect from their activity, competence and responsibility towards the environment;
• Setting of environmental protection requirements to suppliers, clients and other interested parties;
• Development of systems and mechanisms for the execution, review and update of the present environmental policy by making it available for the staff of the company, general public and all other interested parties.
