Environmental preservation by reducing natural resources use and decreasing hazardous process emissions, and the implementation of environmentally friendly production processes and installations has been a confirmed practice at KCM SA, Plovdiv for years. Nevertheless, the influence of ecological problems on the production, economical and social indices of the company increases day by day. On the one hand this is the implementation of the European legislation with increased requirements regarding pollution prevention and control, and on the other hand the concern of community about environmental problems increases more and more.

KCM SA implements a very serious investment ecological programme, regular evaluations of the impact on environment are being made, but this is not enough to be sure that environmental performance not only meets but in future will keep on meeting all the lawful requirements and corresponding to the managing policy conducted at KCM SA. In order to be effective all these measures have to be taken within the frames of structured managing systems and integrated in the whole managing activity.

The implementation of a modern environmental management system, such as the international ISO 14001 standard, aims at underpinning the company in environmental preservation and pollution prevention and at the same time shows consideration for the existing social and economic needs and assists the all-round production and engineering activity at KCM SA, Plovdiv to meet the lawful working environment ordinances of the Republic of Bulgaria and the EU, implementing the approved and adopted by the state authorities ecological programmes and action plans of KCM SA, Plovdiv in this field.
